Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership

The Black Country Skills Factory project has been established to address the current shortfall in High Value Manufacturing (HVM) skills in the Black Country and increase the pipeline of suitably skilled staff to support the Black Country to exploit the growth in the HVM sector.
We are currently looking for expressions of interest for private sector non-executive Skills Factory Board Members. The Board will comprise senior people and will be employer lead with five private sector places, of which one will be the Chair and at least two will be SMEs. The Chair will be elected annually.
We are looking for a breadth of individuals who bring a depth of experience and are able to make an active contribution to the work of the Skills Factory, demonstrating integrity and commitment. Potential Board Members should be able to take a strategic view and engage quickly with issues facing business.
The Skills Factory will be an employer-led education and training collaboration in the Black Country and will meet the needs of both large and small employers. The aspiration is to change fundamentally the relationship between employers and education training providers, to develop a networked approach to skills delivery that is needs driven ...

National Apprenticeship Week

Businesses urged to attend National Apprenticeship week 2013.
The Black Country Chamber of Commerce is working with local college Patrons to showcase apprenticeships in the region during National Apprenticeship Week. Running from Monday 11th March until Friday 15th March 2013, Apprenticeship Week is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the local economy.
